Have you been in an earthquake? I have knowingly only been in one earth shaker, more like a wobbler than a real shaker ... in Preston, England of all places!

How about you? Experienced one in the USA? Do you live in SF?

San Francisco quake ... it will arrive soon on Channel News. Soon being a relative term.

My Mum said that we (Mum, Dad, Brother & I) were in a small earthquake when we lived in Australia. We were also in a bush fire, we were evacuated & our house burnt down. I also got lost in the bush when I was about 2 (I went 'walkabout') & nearly drowned in a swimming pool around the same age. All this before I was 3 years old & I don't remember a thing about any of it!

I barely experienced one...long time ago in New Hampshire. Yes, New Hampshire! I heard all shelves rattling but had no idea what it was, until my parents came home and told me about an earthquake in another state.

My brother, on the other hand, lived in Washington state when there was an earthquake. His apartment floor was tilting from side to side....:scared: no serious damage though, fortunately.

I experienced an earthquake while I lived in Ohio and the Netherlands, neither place being what you think of as earthquake oriented.

People don't think of Europe when they think earthquakes.

Here is a mother of a European one

Lived in Johannesburg for a few years, where you'd experience 'earthquakes' daily due to the blasting at the underground gold mines. First time I experienced it, not knowing what it was, I nearly PMP. It is a very scary experience. Give me a hurricane/tropical storm anyday.

I had heard of it, didn't realize the magnitude and of course a tsunami to go along with it. Lovely,

We went to Kephalonia 17 years ago for our honeymoon and apparently there were earth tremors a few nights. We never noticed them.

There were two earth tremors when I lived in Stockport.

There was an earthquake that hit the NW of England in the early 80's I was living in Chester at the time, it was around 8 am. I was in the bedroom and the wardrobe doors started to rattle, we had those sliding mirror doors at the time. Had it not been for that I don't think I would have noticed anything at all.

I've been in an earthquake in Australia too. It was December 89 and I was on a Greyhound coach from Sydney to Brisbane. Didn't feel a thing.... though it was really weird when we reached the next town (Newcastle I think) and saw all these damadged and collapsed buildings.

I think this one was around 1983/84.
