How 'bout this Motley Crue (tee-hee) :
Nazareth
808 State
Soul II Soul
Eurythmics
Sheena Easton (Ma baby takes the morning train...)
Skinflints
Travis
Steelers Wheel
Morris Minor and the Majors
That last one was too far.

Re: In a Big Country..
..dreams stay with you.
I was just watching a video of Big Country singing "In a Big Country" with an odd little video filmed in Corfe Castle, Swanage and at Dancing Ledge.
It's interesting that a relatively small country has had such a prolific musical output. Some famous bands hailing from the UK:
Led Zep, Queen, Motorhead, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, the Beatles, Stones, Duran Duran (?), Bowie, Cream, Simple Minds, Iggy Pop, Sex Pistols, the Jam (yay!), The Clash, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, the Smiths, the Kinks, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Stone Roses, Genesis, Oasis, Radiohead, the Who, BeeGees, Black Sabbath, Happy Mondays, Housemartins, UB40, Madness, Wham!, Adam and the Ants, Chemical Bros, the Shamen, the Damned, Bananarama, Flock of Seagulls, Soft Cell, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Simply Red...
Who did I miss?

Oh is that what you have to do, in that case I just had a quick shufti (there's a word for Leslie's word thread) at some British bands in my collection that have'nt been mentioned;
The Beatles,
Bad Company
ABC - Martin had a gold suit, mine was silver
Supertramp
Cream
Bauhaus
The Clash
Cocteau twins
Simple Minds
Supertramp
Poison Girls - Vi Subversa rocked and is now in her 70's. Seen them live with The Crass a few times. Awesome!!!!!
Elvis Costello
Depeche Mode
Slaughter and the Dogs
Public Image Limited
Sarah Brightman
Bananarama - they looked hot when I was around 16
Electric Light Orchestra
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
The Stranglers
Nick Drake
Magazine
Ultravox
Killing Joke
Pink Floyd
Prodigy
The Rolling Stones
Queen
Hermans Hermits
Peter & Gordon
Van Morrisson
UB40
The Ruts
The Skids
The Mekons
Flux of pink Indians
That's the British bands in my CD collection. I also have some older vinyl and new I-pod collections if you need more British influences.
