I guess 6/6 must be a good day for me. Whilst being introduced around at my new job today the routine "where are you from? How long have you been here?" conversation came up and I realized that I moved here 8 years ago today! Doesn't seem that long.

My first day today too and I've been here 6 days. Uh oh, 666 !!!

Need a job myself after we move. This will only be the third company I have worked for and I'm pushing 40 years old so I get stressed out about starting somewhere new

To be honest, not that great!! I'm 38 and I remember taking things much more in my stride when I was younger. I'm a computer programmer and my first day consisted of looking over all the existing code to familiarize myself. It was the usual case of looking around at everyone else seemingly knowing what they're doing whilst I didn't have a clue. I have 14 years experience + masters degree so my head tells me that I should pick it up but it's still not the best feeling in the early days.

I can understand. I worked for the same company in England for 14 years. Been with a company here for five. Never thought I would get it but it all worked out.
