Does the water make the mosquitoes worse in the summer? We're about half a mile from the lake and they're a bloody nuisance in our yard.
we have a pond aerator which is meant to help - the buggers prefer still stagnant water, plus we have the pond treated every month and also have the area sprayed every couple of weeks in the summer.

So add Pond Expertise and Mosquito Elimination to the things I've had to learn over here

That's a plus. Also, there are species of fish that eat them too, so if you are going to stock the pond, that would be one to look into to add another layer of prevention.

Still not sure why it bothers you so much anyway, it's only an opinion about a person who isn't you. File under WGAF and enjoy the latest Cubs win.

Right, but you also don't care what other people think of them either I would assume.

Nah... That would involve effort.

Very cool to have chipmunks that feed from your hand. When we went to Chicago to meet the late 'squirrel man' he took us to Olney, IL, where they have white squirrels. Some of those were very friendly. In Olney they are protected by law and have right of way on the roads. Olney was a really charming little town. To people there, going to 'the big city' meant St Louis, which is only 3 hours' drive as opposed to 5 to Chicago.
