Re: 2020 Election
It must be exhausting for some people to be so worried about voting by mail, how many decades has it been available in some states in some fashion and never was an issue. Goodness.
I've voted by mail in every election I have participated in, 2 decades now. And a mail ballot doesn't need to be mailed back in all states, California for instance, you can get the ballot by mail, then return the ballot in person if one is so paranoid about it getting lost. |

Portland has had 24 murders this year, one of which was demo related. I bet most people could not name any of the other victims or their circumstances.

They still call mine a mail ballot, but there is no physical mail involved anymore, California voter people send me a unique link, can only be used once, it gives me access to my ballot, I print it, fill it out, then fax it back, once the web portal shows its been received, I destroy the original. Each page of the ballot (I think there was 10 pages in 2016 of stuff to vote on) had a bar-code and some combination of letters and numbers, which I assume is unique and can only be used on one ballot, so if you sent multiple copies back of the same ballot, the system in place would catch it. I feel more secure this way than going to some random place (sometimes its just someones garage at their house) and dropping a ballot into a fairly insecure box with volunteers, at least my ballot goes directly to the place that counts them. I do have the option to also mail it back, but faxing makes the most sense, cheapest as well, and quickest method to return it and doesn't involve Canada Post. |

Just about all the others are gang related. Funnily enough some years ago they disbanded the Gang Task Force and there was a massive spike in gang shootings. So much so they reinvented the Gang Task Force as the Gun Crime Reduction Team. They disbanded that as part of their move to defund and cripple Portland police and hey ho gun crime jumps again. Wonder what lesson might be learned this time.

So what is the lowest number they have ever had in Portland just out of curiosity?. I can't find crime figures year on year.

I'd trust a cat over a dog. Dogs are too easily pleased by a pat on the head.

Re: 2020 Election
Give me a cat any day of the week and twice on a sunday. Competent, takes care of itself, you can let it go outside without worrying that it's going to shit everywhere.
A dog on the other hand eats your shoes, slobbers everywhere, wakes you up at 2am and will lick your face if you don't pay it any attention. It really does remind me of Biden (cat) and Trump (Dog) A dog is man's best friend. A cat chooses to live with you. |

Not so fast. A cat will suffocate a baby by sitting on it's face google it it has happened before. A dog will protect a baby depending upon the breed. A dog is man's best friend. A cat chooses to live with you.

I've never understood the man's best friend thing. Is it because the man doesn't have to have a conversation or even think?

Re: 2020 Election
Might I just point out that we are at risk of having a serious conversation about which sort of pet animal would make a better choice for president than our current candidates
