A Vote For Treason | Zero Hedge
Extract about Trump: A vote for Donald Trump is not a vote for the person at all, that is why despite the media onslaught of negative stories about him as a person carries no weight with those who support him, because they don't support him at all, they support what he represents, which is a chance to hold Hillary Clinton responsible for her crimes and therefore all of the crooked politicians of 2012 who coerced votes out of their Republican base only to turn on them the next day.

That is a great, short, explanation of why Trump's support is holding up so well. Most of those who vote for him just don't care whether the stories are true or not. Theirs is a protest vote, and that's all.

Extract about Hillary: a vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote for a transformed America, a quasi-police state where the government intervenes in business and forces some out of business while subsidizing other businesses that could not possibly sustain themselves without massive graft and media brainwashing. All of those businesses would be held hostage to a criminal organization originating from the White House. It would be a vote to end forever the concept of individual rights. Hillary Clinton would do no less than continue the work of the Obama Administration to destroy individual rights and nearly half of the nation is in favor of just that.

A pretty serious judgment, and also a good short explanation of why her support is holding up so well. Most (many?) of those who vote for her don't care whether the stories about her and Bill are true or not.

Maybe this election really is about issues, after all.

Meanwhile in Alaska, apparently Trump didn't bother to file a candidate statement.

But the election is rigged.

Time that the US government carry out a retaliatory cyber attack on Russia. How much longer must we put up with these Mongoloids interfering in the electoral process of this country ?

Most likely world leaders wont want to converse with Trump. They'll ask for Mike Pence instead

It will take the GOP years to get itself together as a viable political party after this buffoon has finally finished with it

If Trump loses we may well see a 3rd party of rightwingers forming. The party,I do believe, may well be irreparably damaged.

No, they are on a quest to conquer the GOP and they're doing a pretty effective job of it.

What they haven't figured out is that they can't win the presidency behaving as they do. They have deluded themselves into believing that they are a majority, but they aren't.

Democrats say Russia is rigging the election, no problem.

Trump says the election is being rigged - everyone loses their shit.

Interesting.

What the Podesta emails show is that Clinton is a centrist warhawk willing to do the bidding of Wall St and other donors. The fact that this isn't a shock to anyone speaks volumes.

It's not going to have any real effect on the election because now there is 24/7 coverage of Trump being a dirty old man (another shocker) no-one cares about anything other than sex.

Now if the Wall St speeches and the other stuff had come out in the primary when Clinton was trying to make us believe she was a progressive and was just like Bernie, then it may have had an affect.

Russian efforts to influence the election are simply a matter of fact and have been documented.

Trump is just making stuff up.

Do they? It seems to me that what the Podesta emails show is a political office engaging in politics. Of course they're discussing their (and their candidate's) position on major issues before fine-tuning the words of a speech. Of course they're back-stabbing each other, covering their asses and playing power games with each other. Of course they're commenting on what their principal is saying on speaking platforms. This is what they do for a living - I find it very difficult to understand why this is a surprise to anybody, nor why it gives anybody an impression that there's something amiss going on.

I would imagine that every single senior politician, from every party, in most major democracies around the world, would have a similar quantity of supposedly salacious emails going back and forth between staff in their political office. The reason it's not making much news is that it's frankly not very newsworthy.

I think most informed commentary on the Russian thing has been couched in terms of "trying to influence" rather than "rigging." The scare-rhetoric has been left to Trump's campaign surrogates, as usual.
