Wait what? This was already in the off-topic section of the US forum. Makes no sense to move it here, since it pertains to a US election.

But what do I know?

Politics, innit.

Maybe now it's in TIO we will have to start using made up words - Trumpection 2016?

Exactly -- please put it back where it came from! Sticking it in TIO is just an open invitation for the quality of the debate to go completely downhill.

Because this is the place for lots of well grounded informative input and a healthy debate.....

(Insert Monty Python sketch).

Yikes. I blame The Mad Pooper for jumping in and turning it into an insult-fest. Yes, he gets insulted back, so now it's a vicious circle, but - anyway ... it is what it is.

No one is going to change anyone's mind on this thread, so hurling insults seems pointless. You may think I'm crazy for preferring Hilary over Trump, but the results in November will speak for themselves. The great value of this thread is the reference material provided (eg, Nate Silver's recent site - very useful and informative), and the historical context that the likes of Leslie and others bring. Many on this thread have been in the US for decades, and some are political junkies, so full of info.

I want to say a big thanks to those who do provide such informative posts.

He was stirring shit. Sometimes we rose to the bait, sometimes we didn't.

We did have Boiler and Flavius engaging us from the Libertarian/right wing angle in a much less shitposty way, though.

You're right on changing people's minds. Most of us are independents at heart anyway, I think.

I certainly won't think you're crazy for preferring Hillary to The Donald. I'm not a rabid Clinton supporter, but I don't have any strong feelings against her, either.

To lose something, one must surely have at one time possessed it.

I particularly liked his recent idiotic rant that the Republican politicians who are now deserting him should be barred from ever holding public office again. Such a narcicistic moron.
