I still admire Queen as a band, but personally, I don't find they are standing the test of time the way some other bands do. Obviously Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, and a few other songs are so classic that they will be around forever, but many other album tracks seem a bit old hat now.

That's pretty much the way I feel about Queen, although they are definitely one or a small number of bands who for me fall into the "I should have gone to see them in concert" hopper.

Ah, you confused me when you said Mid-80s. They brought an album out of that tour: 'Live at the Milton Keynes Bowl', and a DVD about 10 years ago. By all accounts, sounded like a good tour.

I still love Queen. They have a few cheesy moments, but albums like Queen II or A Night At The Opera will always be classics.

Yes, confused myself too. Night album and Day album are indeed classics. Also really like the song, "These Are the Days of Our Lives," so poignant.

Sounds like this will be an interesting book. It's not really a surprise, except how deep and long this plan has been going for.

Wikipedia noted that Jane Mayer, (Author of 'Hidden History') also wrote about George Soros:
"In 2004, she wrote an article on George Soros and other activist billionaires who sought "to use their fortunes to engineer the defeat of President George W. Bush in the 2004 election." The article described Soros's "extreme measures" and how his "outsized financial role in the election" has "stirred alarm".
It would be interesting to know whether NPR also devoted 37 minutes to an interview with Jane Mayer regarding that article on its Fresh Air show. Probably not, this sort of thing is why some on the right want to yank NPR's government funding.

What was the name of the book she wrote about George Soros?

It wasn't a book, it was an article in New Yorker. Here is the link if you care to read it:

The Money Man - The New Yorker

It was a rhetorical question...

I know, because my post referenced an article, not a book. I didn't think you would miss the difference. But I thought it would still be worthwhile posting the link to the article.

What is noteworthy is that the article and her book show there is a cabal of billionaires on both sides of the political spectrum influencing our politics - a fact not mentioned in her Fresh Air interview. The clear impression on the referenced Fresh Air interview was that only right-wing billionaires are in that game. Let's face it, as long as politics is wedded to vast sums of money, this is going to happen on both sides of the aisle until there is mutual fiscal disarmament.

Next she will blame him for her daughter having two babies out of wedlock by two different fathers. Family values and all.

Jane Mayer is promoting a book that was released yesterday entitled Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right.

For whatever reason, you opted to give the wrong title for the book and fail to mention that the book is about the Kochs, hence the focus on them in the most recent interview.

Did it occur to you that her publicist is trying to turn a profit on the book and has scheduled interviews with major media outlets in an effort to sell it?

Huh? She wrote a book about the Koch brothers and was interviewed about it. The subject of the book wasn't about billionaires in general donating to politics, be they supporting left, right or whatever politicians. Nor was it an example of the "biased librul media" to have her on Fresh Air to discuss her book. Really, you consistently see reds under the bed where there are none.
