The other thing that I always think is odd is the fascination with the US military which has not won a war since partaking belatedly in WW2. I do not really count Panama.

I thought Americans like winners?

That was supposed to say smell, but I prefer 'small bad cheese people'.

This is not confined just to Yurp though. Right here in rural New York State I have a Socialist Parlor. And yes, I'm not embarrassed to admit, I talk to myself there.

Now I want a Socialist Parlor. What do I need to get started? Do I need special furniture, or is it enough if I just sit down and talk to myself about socialist-type things?

Why don't you try to answer the real question? Europeans are hardly in a position to question the US. Europeans had their welfare states indirectly bankrolled by the US tax payer, but Europeans roundly criticize us.

In fact, Europe always criticize the US..always....during the cold war. It was always America, not the Soviets, that were the problem. Your protests in your streets.

Europeans like to think themselves learned and sophisticated above Americans, but the latest problem on your continent was not resolved by European cunning, but by the hammer of American Force.

And yes, I mean Serbia. NATO is a joke without us. You know it and I know it, but I am tired of being fleeced as an American Tax payer.

Just remember that, even when you are talking to yourselves in the socialist parlors of Europe. Your sophistication meant nothing.

Ahem. The UK bankrupted itself waging total war against Naziism, and had we not done so the late-arriving Americans, glad as we were to see them three years after the start of war, would have had nothing to save. The US supported us with Lend Lease, before it decided to start fighting, and then abruptly cut off Lend Lease after the war leaving the UK unable to feed itself. The US then thankfully instituted the Marshall Plan, but on a basis that meant the UK did not finish paying that off until the mid 1990s. I think we earned we earned the loan, don't you?

Second, the NATO we know was largely conceived by Ernest Bevin - something to remember. The Attlee/Bevin/Bevan post-war government, working with very little, set in place one of the most humane and civilized set of policies the UK ever created, putting social welfare first. Where I come from, paying for that is considered a feather in the cap of civilization, not fleecing.

And we did it all while being polite.

You could always quote your own post, and then reply. I believe that's what other people do when they're trying to arouse attention to their cause.
