NONG KHAI
After visiting my family our family in Laos, we are going to stay in Nong Khai for a week, we'd like to visit lots of temples and stay along the river, any good recommendations (or bad) hotels and interesting things to do

Re: NONG KHAI
I would recommend
Pantawee resort > 042 411 008
Sawasdee guest house > 042 412 502
Gold Lucky resort> 042 423 189
Khong river >042 411 277
As they said Pantawee resort is the best.

Go into Laos for a day, you can get a visa at The Friendship Bridge.

I can't remember the name of the temple exactly ( Wat SalaKaeow ?? ) but it is located about 5km ouside of Nong Khai and if you are there for a few days then you must go . All the tuk-tuks will know it . It has a massive sculpture garden with all kinds of strange things in it and it is well worth a visit .
and errr.... that's it . I get bored in a day in Nong Khai and there isn't much to do apart from relaxing down by the river with a few beers . Nothing wrong with that though !
Some good nightlife in Udon though which might be worth a look too.
