Default Excited to join this Forum and so many questions :) ......

Hello there

Just joined this forum today as we (Matt and Simon) are hoping to move to Thailand (and Bali at some point) temporarily (or for as long as we can) in January 2026 - we will both be 50 then so have been looking at retirement visas up until now, and would greatly value your experience insights and expertise

1. We have been considering whether it would be better (due to really boring financial reasons) as to whether we can get a work visa and get jobs over in Thailand - Im a mental health nurse with 25 years of managing hospitals and community teams - and my husband is an architect? Would anyone have any experience of this?
2. Is it better to learn to speak thai in thailand whilst you are insitu?
3. In November of this year we are doing a reccy trip to Bangkok Chaing Mai and Phuket we think for a couple of weeks - is there any activity, place, event etc that anyone would suggest
4. We really want to meet people that have done it - is there anyone in London that we could meet up with to discuss ?

Thanks very much and have a fab day

Best
Matt
