Hi,
I wouldnt advice getting medicals too early as they only last at most 12months. With immigration making changes to visa and causing delays at the moment it would be foolish to do them too early.

Also as your coming on new PR visa, PR visa are notorious for taking longer to process than say a 457 visa.
