British Columbia Teaching Certificate Requirements
Hi there
Can anyone tell me what the actual qualifications / experience is required to be given a BC teaching certificate? Basically we would like to move to Canada, we are open to other provinces but we are drawn to BC. My husband has 15 years teaching experience (Chemistry and Biology) including being Head of Department at an independent school in the UK. He has qualified teacher status but this was obtained via something called School Direct? So he doesn't have a standard PGCE or Degree in teaching itself. He does have a 1st class honours Degree and a PHD in a scientific fields, is this considered at all? Or is just a case of ...you need to have a degree in teaching?
