Quite a few Spanish around my way were complaining about the excess heat and sudden change last week, saying it was far from the norm.
When it comes on gradually ppl have a chance to acclimatise, but this caught quite a few out, incl. myself, and apparently some older ones are suffering a bit. This trend towards little or no in-between period, (spring or autumn), seems to me to have increased in recent times and not only in Spain. Maybe it ties in with the continued trend to more extremes of weather. Once again little or nothing in between. |

Lived in Spain 15 years and never known 35C through the night, that would be a health hazard:blink: Infact we didn't get those temperatures in central Africa or Egypt.

I don't quite understand how you could have had 18c during the day and 35c during the night. Have I missed something?

It would likely send my temperature through the roof as well, so I'll try and avoid roundabouts and birds called May till the weather cools off again.

Fortunately I had her on the plane back home just before the worst of the heatwave started or I might well have been an ex-poster by now. Hell, just noticed, that last sentence may well have given the wrong impression. I haven't joined the 6 mile high club just yet, but I still live in hopes. |
