Given how upset Vox are about the recent survey showing immigrants making up a substantial part of the population I expect that if...if...the right wins and a pact is drawn up then we can expect a few changes to make life less comfortable for immigrants and guess what vox don't like? They don't like English becoming a dominant language. So like in France and UK its feasible that residency requirements could require spanish!

Everybody is assuming that VOX will be the natural partner in a coalition, but just imagine that PP get close to a majority........ natural partner could also be PNV which woud change the dynamic wouldn't it? All conjecture and pretty meaningless at the moment. See you in 8 weeks time!

Just to set the record straight and not go down the sensationalist line as do some newspapers, and not being an ETA sympathiser:

There are 27 elected Sinn Fein MP's in the current Northern Ireland assembly.
Not all ex ETA convicted sympathisers were murderers. Some were convicted, caught putting up a poster. Arnaldo Otegi, current Bildu leader, was imprisoned for assisting in the kidnap of a Basque businessman.

I notice the latest issue involving the election now in July is that it's the holiday season and many Spanish head to their various second homes . The thing that is upsetting them is that everyone has a potential obligation to work on the voting tables. It's like jury service- you can't refuse ( unless over 65 or certain other things) . This means people can't arrange their holidays in advance this year so , of course , there is alot of anger. I think one option is to deregister from the public census but then you can't vote.! I imagine this will become a big talking point in the next month.

You're right, and no question the date is one that Sanchez thinks will harm PP/VOX more than PSOE. Just as well he did not go a week later when millions of Spanish will head for the coast. That would surely have lead to riots! Also remember that you can only vote in your registered place or else take a postal vote.

You'll probably know this newspaper better than me to say how reliable it is, but seems clear enough to me https://www.diariodenavarra.es/notic...67924-300.html

PP wanted an early election and July is the earliest he could call it. PP were delighted yesterday one because an early election favours them secondly all of the new proposed bills ( ley de Vivienda, solo si es si) are thrown out. Had Sanchez remained until even September PP would have said he was playing for time. Most Government use that playback. Besides how does it harm PP/Vox more than POSE? Everyone can postal vote if they want. The biggest gripe is being called to the voting tables!!

Did you know the electoral law in Andalucia for example, prohibits celebrating elections in July and August..... and guess where PP are strong at the moment?
