Re: Are you affected by the heat?

I must admit I avoid the really hot, midday sun here in Spain, not because of any scientific reasons, but merely because it feels uncomfortable. I also admit that on a visit to my Australian family, when I attempted to briefly sunbathe when it was hot, I had to cover up because it felt dangerous - it seemed to be a different kind of heat, a destructive kind.

One day I walked from the Sydney Opera house to the large tropical gardens and wondered at the different species of plants and birds on show. I even stopped to speak to what looked like a blue and yellow magpie. I had to stop, the funny looking bird refused to get out of my way.

I remember saying, 'What the f*** are you?'

I'm sure it replied, 'You piss off, I live here.'

I took the advice.

I had a similar experience in the exact same place, but rather than a bird that looked like a magpie in football colours, it was a large koala in a tutu... my wife assures me it was a result of the midday sun and trying to have a beer in every bar from The Rocks to the opera house:D:D:D
