Struggling on a fixed Pound Sterling pension - Torrevieja just down from Alicante - credit crunch and fall of the pound is really hitting hard here.

Yes, good question - I often wonder when people say they're working is it professional? Seasonal? Whatever they can get?

We have been here since March & have been lucky to find a job, one day a week.
Its not what i did in the UK, but am enjoying it, just wish i could find other employment to take the burden off the savings !!!!

I'm doing what I trained to do before I had the kids - though I didn't actually do that much of it

now they are older & I was getting bored I decided to get back to it

Hi
Newly retired (2 months of payments) after living here for six years - worked illegally maintaining properties but cut back over the last couple of years now trying not to work - but the phone keeps ringing. However, now don't charge - as a bachelor an invite to "Cena" and bring your toolkit is normal !!!

I think it is quite hard for working-age immigrants to avoid the 'black economy' in Spain... For many people I know it helps to make ends meet...
