How on earth do these people translate this into another language?
Really enjoying reading this thread.
For me it is when people shorten words because I tend to want to complete the word for them.
Also:
Y´know, like, well, great etc when they cannot respond properly in a conversation.

I love almost all words, but hate needless repetitions and people who SHOUT should be shot on the spot. Ditto those red liners.

Always thought this one was a British thing. I spent a lot of the semester trying to coerce my British friend to sing the alphabet, and as soon as she said "haitch" I would start laughing
The best thing was when someone else would ask her to spell something and she started "haitch"
Ah the things I learn in school

It doesn't matter how many times you tell someone 'haitch' is wrong, it seems to strike a primeval chord. Actually the only good thing about the US
is that they don't 'correct' you like they do in the Midlands when spelling out name/address - "Ow, you mean hhhhhhhaitch!"

"I'm good" - in response to "How are you".
One of these days I will respond with "I'm bad" and see what the response is.

"They are a PD" (personality disorder) I usually find that the person does not agree with othe other's views or behaviour and just wants to dismiss them out of hand.

Some sayings that we all learn to hate catch on due to programmes too.
I am finding it really difficult to remember things that used to get under my skin.
