Re: Winter Fuel Payment

The cold weather payment was not replaced by WFA, cold weather payment is still there for those on certain benefits when temprature conditions are met. WFA is an addition to the pension along the lines of the Christmas bonus as you say not made part of the pension for cost implications, as such it can be removed, but I suppose that depends on how brave they feel at an election. Like I say I don't get it and doubt I ever will,

Interesting that under the proposed tempraure rules although Spain and France are to be excluded those in Italy appear not to be?

Neptuno as you have made your claim previously I would think you will continue to get it without claiming again untill the rules change. Suppose to b certain though you will either have to wait and see or ask them.

Machine went doolally ?? hence deletions.

Fred bit like your wife for me with State Pension. I am born 6th Feb 54 and have to wait until July of my 65th year to get pension. Had I been born on the 5th I would get it on my birthday. Mind wife has to wait 6 years longer than she first thought!

When I was back in the UK in June, I noticed that my father's old house was back on the market, at an asking price 23% less than we sold it for in November 2007. According to the Land Registry records it hasn't yet been sold. Prices in my old postcode (in a different area of the North West) have also fallen over 20% since we sold in November 2006.

From the same area of the country as you, I can confirm that prices there have indeed dropped since we sold in 2007.

They are on track, increased 0.9% for the year. There are always winners and losers even in boom times.

Yes but per the Government they have implemented as they have so that people can save or make other plans for the shortfall???? Roughly 6 year at her last pension forecast is around £38500, that is some saving. That's why I say the WFA is not a deal breaker for us we have lost much more in reality.
