Default Wind breaks

Every time we get blown off the beach we always say "we need a windbreak". Never been able to find one, so maybe we are looking in the wrong places. Any suggestions please?
Thanks

Both Lidl and Aldi do them Portugal and Spain at the right time. We bought a brolly when Lidl had them in last year and it did not last a session on the beach at Monte Gordo before it took off and all the others seemed to stay, a wind break would have been a better buy or perhaps both.

If you're still in the UK then go to a camping store and invest in a decent windbreak with guy ropes. We did and it survived some of the gales on the beach at Isla Canela at Easter (which is more than the OH did).

You can probably get similar at Decathlon - I haven't looked but it's the sort of thing they do. BTW the new Decathlon at Faro (behind the Forum) is open.

Thanks, think I'll take a look at Decathlon in Faro when I leave the airport.

Hi Andy

We were in town yesterday and saw some windbreaks in Yonait in Ayamonte. Yonait is one of those "odds and ends" shops and is directly opposite the far end of the fresh food market. We were on the beach the other day and it was extremely hot but very blowy. Good luck in your search.

I think decathlon will be the best as you will have a choice of models. Great shop!

I also saw one of those 'futuristic' ones using bendy tent poles in LIDL VRSA a couple of days ago about 20 euros I think.

Since I posted this we have seen traditional wind breaks in several of the £shop type places in Ayamonte. Obviously us Brits are trendsetters and the Spanish are catching on!

Beware of the cheap ones. I bought one - it is made of reconstituted paper and lasted about 5 minutes in a breeze. Fine as a sun shade but not much else. Get a decent quality one - preferably one you can optionally add guy ropes for the extra windy days (there seem to be more windy days just now)
