I think it is a praying mantis I have seen them both in green and the brown.

Ain't got a clue but there is all sorts in Spain isnt there yak!!
Me and my pal pulled a rotten tree trunk up in the garden yesterday and underneath was these 3 big fat bug things they was just like the ones they eat on I'm a celebrity get me out of here big fat juicy green things urrrggghhhhh they was wrong my mate said shall we cook them and eat them haha

its not a praying mantis..iv never seen one of these before, and yes there are some weird critters here

It is a " saltamontes cornudo ", in english I think that is " horned grasshoppers "

Pretty - and harmless. The photo of the baby mantises as nice too. It's worth getting to know the various insects in the garden.
Although today my hand is swollen thanks to being stung by a wasp while pottering about.
