S/Frog isn't very diplomatic is he:rofl:

When I first joined this forum I rarely saw a negative post but a lot more now, a bit more realistic good and bad.

to be fair - when you joined, as when I did - things on the whole were pretty good for expats in Spain

yes, there were problems - but overall things were good

of course in the past year or so things have changed

At least on TA he / she (Gilly / S/Frog) were only dissing Fuengirolla, a place, for some reason, that they chose to live in, rather than the whole of Spain & it's people.
Not my intended 1st post but I'll wait & try & find a time when things aren't so fiery :fingerscrossed:

Hi,

Just a little note to ask that you don't discuss other communities, their moderators, or members etc on BE. It's just we don't like to bring issues from elsewhere onto here.

Thanks all:)

Whenever I see that I always substitute "I tell it like I see it" which is DEFINITELY NOT THE SAME AS "I tell it like it is".

Wowzers, what a blast of posts with such valid and informative input frog dude. I supported Spain and it felt oh so good to actually support someone in a world cup final that won and meant something to me. I was actually really chuffed inside. Not like the past hollow sensation I had when supporting Brazil 'because everybody did'. Well done Spain, I love you and thank you for your hospitality.
I even bought a Spanish flag and hung it off my balcony alongside my St George cross (until we got knocked out).
I shall wave it as you fly off back to Devon..:(

No one will disagree with what you are saying cos you have quite rightly stated fact, lots of people get ripped off & even more lose money through naivety.

Are you really suggesting though that it doesn't happen in the UK? If you've been away 12 years then trust me things have changed massively and you're in for a shock when you go back. I don't think people return to the UK because it's the promised land, they return because of the soft touch benefits system.

I can only imagine, I just wish Mrs. IP, IP Jr and I could've been there in a neighborhood bar watching it as well. I am curious- just how many people actually went to work on Monday following the victory? Must've been awfully lonely in most places LOL.:D

A dutch guy I know went to a chiringuito to watch with his english OH - they were giving out free t-shirts - red & yellow or orange, with the name of the bar on the front

I saw him on Tuesday morning - wearing the red & yellow one!!

You aren't annoying though. Your post was good to reply to and it was fun. If there's one place I would live in in the uk it would be Devon. (Although I'm sure us Dingles already have somekind of ban from going there already):)
