idiots

We had our Spain flag up here in England for the last 2 weeks showing our support for the country we love and hope to one day call our home (had the St George up as well until we went out the competition).

You know it is perfectly simple to "tell it like it is" without calling people fu**ers, bas***ds, twa*ts and idiots and then you'd be able to get your point across without being banned by the Mods and sniggered at by the rest.

Not the sharpest tool are you?

it is isn't it?

I've 'told it like it is' good & bad & will continue to do so - but I've never iirc been 'jumped on'

If you carry on the way you are you won't be long on this forum either. Posting your opinions is one thing, to do so only to wind people up is entirely another and it's called trolling. So please tone it down a bit.

Thanks

Re: Will you be cheering for Spain?

Being relatively new to this forum some of the conversations that I have read certainly hadn't been what I expected.

I thought the idea of these forums was to help and advice people, new and old, on topics across the board.

Constructive opinions or ideas can been given in a polite and well thought out manner. Why do people need to be so abusive towards other people and their ideals etc. If you don't like the country, why did you move there? If the UK is so good why did you leave? Why are you so bitter and twisted about a country and a lifestyle that you chose?
Why do you have to ridicule and be abusive towards people who want a better life. Not all of us are happy here in the UK.

Yes I did watch the footy final and yes I did cheer for Spain and yes the best team won!!!

I agree with you and once you get used to this forum you soon learn who to listen to, who talks nonsense, who is gonna post negative and unhappy comments... I guess forums are like life really and you learn about everyones personalities and values and take what you want from those who's values you trust

But this forum can be a tad volatile sometimes

if you look carefully you'll see that it's just one or two posters who get nasty, abrasive or personal

on a lot of these forums there are only a few regular posters who have become 'friends' - anyone who disagrees with them will simply be banned & their posts deleted

it's not like that here - here there are so very many that not everyone will get along - just like in 'the real world'

personally I think it's good for the forum that alternate opinions are allowed - and arguments to an extent - as long as they don't get too personal & nasty

the moderators do a good job of stopping any really nasty behaviour - but they are volunteers - & can't be here 24/7 - they have lives too

if anything is really bad & you find it offensive - use the report button - on the left - looks like an exclamation mark - & someone will deal with it

Re: Will you be cheering for Spain?

I've seen it happen before, people get disillusioned with a place they used to like, for their own reasons, and then slag the place off, going well over the top.

I wish this poster well back in North Devon, a lovely place that I know quite well, and when he drops his fishing line into the deep harbour at Ilfracoombe, he'll soon forget his bad years in Fuengirola and remember the happy ones.

I must admit there are a couple of places in Spain I'm not keen on either, but I was lucky enough to have just been able to move away to places that I did like. I could easily start on the place where I live now, but I won't, in case I run out of places.

And sometimes, if I post after midnight, my judgment can get a bit skewed too.
