Default will i find work in spain?

Hello my name is Dean i am 24 yrs old and met a spanish girl from madrid 3 years ago in england. We have been living together in england and are engaged but she finds it very hard to be so far away from her family for long periods of time. I would like to move to spain preferably in the south due to the amount of english speaking people as i have only recently started taking spanish lessons. I would actualy consider moving to any part of spain if it ment i could get a job as an electrician it would be a start. Is it easy to find a english electrical company in spain? and what sort of steps do i need to take to be able to be an electrician in spain? If anyone knows any english spanish electrical companys in spain i would be very grateful for some info on these companys so i could get in touch. I know the economy is not at its best in spain at the moment as i travel to madrid often and have visited other places like barcelona, sevilla, cadiz and malaga but im hoping that i will get a lucky break if this is actualy possible??? Thanks for your time.

It would be difficult but not impossible to find work. You could help your prospects by learning some of the language. Your girl friends family would be better placed to help you find a job.

An English electrical company in Spain does not exist. If you want to do wring of buildings I am sorry to say you will have to learn your trade all over again. Wiring here is very very different to that in the U.K.
But don't give up look for other avenues, maybe the GF's family can help you find something.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

As an electrician surely you'd be on a decent wage and able to afford the various Easyjet or Ryanair flights to Madrid, so your girlfriend doesn't miss the place too much?
I'm in agreement with Casa Santo Estevo - I can't see you being able to find work in your field without going through the process of taking the local qualifications.
Only thing I can think of at the moment is looking at this from a different angle. If you know of building companies in the UK that are finding it difficult to get skilled workers (unlikely under present conditions, but not impossible in the future) then maybe you could set up a recruitment agency in Spain (you'd need an administrator helping out here in the UK of course) to recruit some of the fall-out from the construction industry decline. Having said that, it's my limited experience that there are plenty of EE workers able to fill any gap, so maybe that's a non-starter.
Good luck, in any case

unfortunetly any jobs in construction have dwindled greatly here... and not speaking spanish fluently and not having spanish qualifications for being an electrician could be the start of many issues for you.
i know just being a hairdresser I have to take equivalency tests and that is just to cut hair.

I wish you luck and hope you find something even if its not in your trade. good luck
