Hello all
I am visiting Costa Blanca soon with one of them property companies and have been looking around the internet for alternative approaches to buying through these agencys. There seem to be some great deals but I really cannot understand why the prices vary so much. I found one property that looks superb for the price (in my range) and having dogs the location looks fantastic. What I cannot understand for size of the house and the fact it is furnished compared to a 2 bed villa it is a stupid price. With a property such as this what would be the potential pitfalls please? This is not a plug for this house please dont think that. I just need to understand the huge differences in property prices its very confusing
Thanks

We gave up looking on the internet AND in estate agents windows, because whenever we asked about properties they were always sold .... some in the windows you could tell had been in there for months, if not years!!!!
The only way we found of sucessfully doing it was going to (as far as we could tell) a reputable estate agent, telling them what we were looking for, and going out with them for half a day to see the places.

Also the price varies due to supply and demand. Some parts of Spain there is more of a supply than people willing to buy , so the price is adjusted accordingly.
Visit Spain independently, hire a car, book accommodation in parts of the country you are interested in. Make appointments with agents in those areas (this can be done at home before you go), and most importantly book that appointment with a local independent solicitor, that speaks good English, speak to them before you even look at the first property.
Good luck, remember if it looks too good to be true it probably is.

Some properties are heavily discounted because they do not have legal permissions, or escritura as they are called here. This is another possibility.

We went over independently and visited a few areas along the Costa Durada, Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol then finally settled on the Costa Blanca after 4 years of looking and asking around. Hope you find something suitable in your price range and enjoy your new life in the sun
