I am a new member and just wanted to say I have never had any interest in sites like this,but since viewing yours I am converted.It seems as though you are old mates and the banter cracks me up.The town we are starting off in is Villajoyosa although we don`t know if this town will be right for us ultimately.Does anybody have any info on the villages around here,finestrat,orchteta etc.What are the schools like.Also on the work front hubby does property maintenance/carpentry but is just about to go on a tiling course to maximise his chances,does this sound like a good idea?

Great what the internet can do, I've never met any of the others, and I suspect that not too many have met each other, but it can get like a big club at times, but there are also many serious threads among the banter ones.

Tiling will help your hubby as there is not a lot of carpentery in Spanish building.

We have just returned from Finistrat a friend of ours has a bar there and our daughter is living there. It's a nice enough area but we will be living inland, prices are cheaper and it isn't as touristy inland.

If I remember correctly Finestrat is lots of villas piled on top of each other, although I'm sure there are better areas - I didn't like the part we saw very much but passed through on the way to Guadalest
