[QUOTE=rugbymatt;4574680]Sad thing about RPF is that it portrayed the character Neville to be a bastard, and he so wasnt, not to mention there is absolutely no evidence that the "lost generation" even happened, and in the book, there was absolutely no force used to remove the kids.

I don't know enough about the facts to pass judgement, and any film should always be viewed with an open mind, what came over to me about Neville is I think he believed very strongly in what he was doing and that his actions were for the right reasons. What happens at any given time in history for what ever reasons can always be seen in a different light in hindsight.

A film is a film, made to make money in most cases as well as to entertain.

Oh dont get me wrong, I love the film, its a very well made story and for that full credit, but interestingly when Neville died some 500 letters from Aborigines that he helped arrived at his house thanking him for the work he had done in supporting native Australians.

The Maori are the only native people to resist the British Empire in such a way that they had to sue for peace in the end, hence the Treaty of Waitangi, and they have a lot more say in the country than their Australian counterparts.

If you want an amazing Maori film watch Whale Rider, very girly but about the only film I have cried at.
I did not mean that they were the same people i meant that through goverment pressure they had been pushed in to simalar postions.

No offence meant and as it happens i had been looking for a new username for forums and things and i did so visualbyte is now Ka Ora!

i will have a look on amazon as i am always lookubg for good titles to add to my collection

No that's OK I was not taken it to heart, I was just saying people should never think "oh that was a true story it happen just like that". Media has a habit of distorting the facts.

Hey I think I just made my 300th post just a few more and I'll be catching up to you.

Dont be silly, I wasnt having a go, was just saying, its just that I have spent a lot of time talking to Maori's about the whole issue, and it interests me, but honestly it wasnt meant as a dig.

Your name also sounds like the Maori greeting of Kia Ora.

There was a sequel to Once were warriors, some didnt like it but I did.

Here is a lovely clip from the film.

I Dont want to be taken out of context i just used two ecthnic races that were close to each over as you have the

Aboriginals verus English nearly french but they didnt like aus(fools)

Mauri versus English

Native indians English and a lot more of europe

A lot of Africa Verus Europe

Current Eskimo Indians Still Struggling with pressures from around the world to get shot of them

Want im saying is our current state of understanding of the world is based of a lot of wrong doing by the English French Spanish and Dutch and last but not least the Germans but there disturbance in history has been the last hundred years they were not creaters of the global foundations of how we see the world now. They could not sail for s°°t.
