Re: What will happen in 2014?

Countries will be more corrupt, more scapegoats found, the cost of living will rise and the unemployed will increase. More paedophiles will be named and there will be some shocks among them. There will be more extreme weather events. More of us will be shrooms

Road signs hahaha aye that would be good and would thinking about where they place them ! NOT to block your vision.

Some predictions:

1 The number of jobs will rise, and the number of unemployed will fall. It won't be as fast as we'd like, and people will complain they are temporary jobs, but there will be an improvement.

2 Although it hasn't been achieved in a day, the fast train link from Madrid to Zamora will open (this will eventually link up to Galicia).

3 The number of countries in the Euro zone will remain stable.

4 Either Germany or Brazil will win the World Cup :( Spain to be knocked out by the semi-finals.

5 Another Northern Rock event (piles of people panicking at bank branches) - but this could be in any country.

6 Physical Work to start on Paramount Park Murcia (I got this totally wrong - I thought this wouldn't go ahead and EuroVegas would :o )

7 The Scots to vote against indepenence, although the Yes vote get 40-45% it's not enough.

So you are predicting the breaking out of common sense amongst politicians, are you mad?

In my dreams the Scots vote for independence.
Not likely though as most have too much sense.

Agreed. If they don't vote for independence they are likely to get devo-max anyway which is what Salmond actually wants.

They should ask us.:sneaky:

Agree, I've often said if the Scots want to be assured of independence, they should give the English a vote, they'd be gone.;)

I watched a strange but enjoyable programme earlier about the Glasgow Empire Theatre which every one of the top live entertainers in the fifties had to perform in to further their careers. If they couldn't make it it there, they couldn't make it anywhere.

Bob Hope, Dean Martin, Cliff Richard - they were all there.

And, you can't give the English a vote on Scottish Independence, nor the English a vote on Welsh independence, it doesn't work that way.

I wonder about the Scottish vote - who can vote? People who live in Scotland? People who claim Scots descent? Take me for instance - never been to the place, but both parents Scottish. I'd like a Scottish passport rather than an English one in the long term, since I would like to remain as a European, and the Scots don't have (as far as I know) a UKIP or a Tea Party.
Anyway, it'll probably never happen, despite Catalonian (and Basque and Galician) eyes on the outcome...

You would have to apply for a visa to visit any other country in the world including England ;)

The English would not be voting for Scottish independence though, they would be voting for English independence.

You have to be resident in Scotland and on the electoral roll in order to vote. A bit harsh on Scots who are working away, but I can't see how they could have done it any other way seeing as currently there is no such thing as a Scottish passport.

What I can't get is, that Labour appear to be oblivious to the fact that losing circa 50 Scottish seats at Westminster makes them totally unelectable.
