Yes you have misunderstood big time I worked 43 years paying 6 plus per cent for my pension only to be told by the Daily Mail I did not deserve it and should not retire in the sun. But then it takes all sorts from 15 I paid tax and NI and joined superan at 18 and pay tax to HMRC till the day I depart this mortal coil.

Almost full time but Kaths mum is 92 so we do make frequent trips back and try to coincide those with her birthday and our three adult children's birthdays.

well, Spain, Italy and Greece have put accountants in charge or in charge of various political positions but in all instances have just turned into politicians.

A country is like a megacorp, you have to have a leader and a board, but their actions are not for political expediency, just for the purpose of profit.
Perhaps that is the way a country should be run - it would make more sense.

She's in the UK, but unfortunately can't afford to retire for another three or four years. I am trying to persuade her to cut down her hours though, before the stress kills her off!

Definitely not! Everyone should have a voice, we can't leave running the country to the people who got it in this mess in the first place - and I'm talking about the accountants and bankers, rather than the politicians. We still live in a democracy and ordinary people should get more involved in politics, not less.

I don't want to be a human resource in a megacorp! I'd rather run off and join the anarchists!

The people who got us in this mess is ourselves, the voters. It's alright blaming the bankers , the politicians, et al, however we the people have the power but we were seduced by believing the boom would never end.

We only have ourselves to blame.
