I really don´t understand the changing nationality thingy.
I have never felt the urge to change nationality to Spanish, my parents were quite happy remaining Spanish, and quite happy for me to be what I was born to be, British.
My OH has spent more of his life in the UK, but when he was old enough to become a British citizen, he never did, he was happy to be what he was born to be, Spanish.
If we did change nationalities, I am sure that we would not walk any taller, or feel any happier.
I have a feeling that many changing nationality is not really a yearning to become a citizen of the new country, but more an "up yours" to the old one.
Either that or it is done for an advantages, benefit, visas etc.
We have never felt the urge to do either.
As we don´t try to be anything but ourselves, I don´t think we can be called plastic anything, but to some, as we don´t slavishly follow the timetables, eating habits, entertainment preferences etc, I suppose as the OH always has time for an English brekkie when he wants one, he can be called a plastic Brit.
