I am getting cold feet as I am on the verge of completing, reading these emails it seems most people are retired and financially dont have work is the the case with most people who move to Spain. As I woul have to find work.

Where abouts are you buying ?
Really rule number one is, always spend some time renting in the area before you buy.
There are so many considerations, heat and cold, winter and summer population wise, work, schools, transport, health clinics, etc etc.

I am moving to Daya Nueva Costa Blanca South 8km from Gaudamar. I have bought in a villiage. The area is very nice not much in the village as they are developing around this small villiage.I am aware I will have to drive in to find work either in Torrevieja or surrounding areas.

It certainly seems that most people are living on retirement pensions in our area, or in some case disability allowances. I didn't know you could claim disability allowance whilst living in Spain they are doing ok off it though.

I am running my net business what i have here in the uk from Spain, had to employ someone part time in the UK though to do the bits and bobs i can not do over the net. Also got something lined up in Spain for a second business but only when my Spannish is at a standard what it will need to be. Early stages of the second business and wont be up and running till 2009 so my only income is the net business what is doing very well, so fingers crossed it will stay that way.

I move out on the 16th of febuary just booked my dog his plane ticket today, so excited.

Id like to retire now but i have only just turned 28.

If you were claiming Incapacity Benefit in the UK you can continue to claim it in Spain providing you continue to fulfull the criteria.

It covers you for medical care too, even if you are not of State Retirement age.

I don't know whether you can still claim Disability Living Allowance.

The UK was taken to te European court over non payment of some of the disability allowances, and lost the case, so they have been tiold they MUST pay them. They are currently 'studying the courts verdict, and will let those who have claimed know when they work out the effect of the decision' BUT people do have to claim.
