well licenses, any info appreciated
Our house is on 65,000 metres of olive land, which is farmed by the previous owner. 1723 metres of this was supposed to be segregated so that our title deeds could be stamped by the land registry and we would legally own it. This hasnt happened. So we cant sell.
We have been presented with various options to sort this out. One being that the previous owners change the way they define their land, from olive land to land that is used for intense cultivation. To do this, and they are willing to do this for us, they need a well on the land, which they have, but it is unlicensed.
So we have been told it takes 3 or 4 months to get a well license, any one out there had to do this? What do you need to get a well license, our well is an old brick lined well that we have joint ownership of. Who looks at the well, what standards does it have to conform to, or is it a more abstract matter where paperwork gets stamped?
If any one has been through this procedure, how long did it take, how much did it cost, any way of speeding it up...
Once the well is legalised we can apparently apply for segregation. Any info gratefully received.

Licenses and permits for for wells are issued by your local "Confederación Hidrográfica" (Water Authority).
You would need to approach them and they will give you the necessary paperwork to complete.

If you don't want to battle through the process yourself, it's the sort of thing a gestor would do for you.
You don't say where you are but you could maybe contact these guys for advice http://www.waterwells.org/

Thank you for your replies.
We have someone working on this for us, he has told us it will take two to three months. Just wondered if any one had actually been through the process and whether it was an uncomplicated one.

Our community got this done, I can't remember how long it took as it was so long ago. It was a shared well and we had to get that legalised in order to get legal electricty. The electricty was supplied to run the well which we then had pilons running off, and divide up the bill. I don't think its too much hassle as we all paid 150E for the well and the community to be legalised, that included lawyers costs, btw 15 plots.
