We are being offered free internet TV.. A one of payment of €250 and they send you a box which gets you free UKTV. I have never heard of this before. These people live in spain ...not in the Canary Isles.

Suppose it depends how much the box is actually worth and what TV it will give you as you will have to pay the internet charges to watch it. Just a quick search came up with this from Maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/digital-stre...ion-box-476764

Any Android TV box also works.
Bought one at Leroy merlin for €59 a few months back. Just download the apps you want. BBC iPlayer, LoveFilm, Netflix, etc...

Just one of many jumping on the loss of UK TV bandwagon, we will hear more of this.
Buy a cheap box and if and when sites are shut down you will not have lost too much money.
Certainly do not pay for any subscription services.

we have people here who would tell us all about the free tv they are getting but neglect to tell us about the €250 they forked out to get it
I suppose if it lasts for a year then it is only €5/week and gets less for every year but then there will be the internet charges - and we know how limited the bandwidth availability is
But the more the adverts keep coming the more people are going to buy into the scams - and the rocket hasn't taken off yet ! !
By the way Bob, at £30 sounds a good deal - but I noticed that it isn't available on the internet when I looked

(I was recently offered a "fix" for the unbelievably low price of only €900 - I reckon it was so good I don't even need it :-)
Same concept in "phishing" emails. Out of a million emails sent, you might get 10 who give you their credit card or online banking login info. Potentially many grand in-pocket right there (except offering UK TV service for €250 is probably perfectly legal if you agree to it).
