I have been testing a few solutions recently. A normal VPN works fine so long as you have that facility on the device you are using. PCs are easy to set up and so are iPads etc but some other devices such as Smart TVs, Apple TV and satellite boxes don't have the option to use a VPN.
Mitzy has suggested on another thread using a DD-WRT router with a VPN but not all routers can do that. I have found another alternative -Smart DNS and it's cheaper than most VPNs.
You change the DNS settings on your router to one they give you and it does work fine. You can also input the DNS settings into devices directly that won't accept a VPN.
They have a rolling one month account which you can cancel after one month so its worth a try.

Affixing a second one and doing what we are doing was a simpler safer option for me. In this way I have a connection for the PC and I can route Xbox (for netflix for instance) and other devices I choose through the VPN router. The PC can simply change to the VPN if I want to hide my identity at any time
