Aaaahh! What a lovely post

How wonderful that you have met the man of your dreams, and that you are so happy together.

Perhaps I can join yours and Crispy's "club!?"
I also have a Mr Wonderful, who totally restored my faith (and my broken heart) after my first husband decided that he "didn't want to be married any more!"

Almost 13 years later, he's still every bit as gorgeous as that very first date, and I love him to bits!

PS Is that your German Shepherd in your avatar?
We have one too; best dogs in the world!

Hello Brisca
I have learned very little with the years but one thing that i know now is that when something wrong happens, something that makes you think that is the end of the world, that your heart is not going to stop hurting, then, when the time passes you find out that you have to thank this event has happened, i mean, if your first husband hadn't decided that he didn't want to be married any more you wouldn't have met your true love

Yes, he is my German Shepherd and he is as if he were our son, as we don't have any kids..

You are absolutely right marisol
I also believe that things happen for a reason; and I count my blessings every day
I'm also very fortunate that I am still friends with my ex husband, and I adore his "new" wife and their baby son.

Snap! Our 8 year old "puppy" is our child substitute too.
She's absolutely wonderful
Your boy is muy guapo! How old is he?

My boy, Roco, is 4, he will be 5 years old next October.

I had other, his name was Rufo and i loved him so much..., he was my best friend, he always was where i was. He took care of me since he was a puppy. Rufo was a German Shepherd but of work-line (i don't know if it's the word in English, in Spanish we say "linea de trabajo"). The day i had to sleep him was one of the worst days in my life. He will be always in my hurt.
I'm sure he will be in the heaven playing with his friends and he keeps on taking care of me.

It's a pity dog's life is so short, but the important is the quality of life and not the quantity and our dogs are really happy, so that's the most important.

Well Roco is a very handsome boy indeed!

I understand exactly what you mean about the companionship and love that a dog offers.
We also had another German Shepherd, who was sadly only 8 when we had to have her put to sleep. It broke my heart, and I still cry when I think of that awful day - even though it was 8 years ago
She helped me through the terrible time when my ex husband left, and she was my rock.

As you say, the important thing is that our dogs are well loved and cared for, and they will always be in our hearts

There are a lot of dog lovers on this forum, so you're in very good company
We've gone a bit off thread here, but I'm sure we'll be forgiven

You're quite right in what you say about "linea de trabajo".
In English it's "from a working line" or simply "a working dog".
I hope my Spanish will be as good as your English one day!
