My Mother in her wisdom has brought UK telephones with her. Does anyone know of an adaptor that will convert the Spanish socket to take the UK phones? If so where can they be bought?

Any chinese supermarket will sell UK / Spain adaptors quite cheaply, or even many supermarkets, although they will cost a bit more

I may be completely wrong here BUT is there not also a problem using UK phones abroad because you need an adapter with a ring capacitor in it otherwise there is a good chance the phone will not ring properly?
Or perhaps they all have this in these days?

Many modern phones are designed identical for the international market, so won't need a master socket to ring.

But for those that aren't, here's a trick. If you had broadband in the UK, you'll probably find that you've still got a good quality 'microfilter' hanging around. Because this is normally wired across the incoming pair, UK versions will include the same basic components as a UK master socket. Wire that in, and you'll find an older non-ringing UK phone should now ring.

I brought mine and just plugged it in with a normal continental adaptor with no problems at all.

I have a Nokia N70 which is from the UK, and no problem

They are talking landline phones, you need an adaptor for the charger and one for the phone line connection.
