We have three different adaptors in with our 'Forrin 'otel tea making kit' and we were still defeated by the ingenious plug at the last place we over-nighted in Bordeaux, there's nothing worse for us English than having to wait till 7am. for your first cup of tea.

You can buy these that simply plug into a normal European socket - and they'll accept any kind of plug. It's so slim and fits so flat, it doesn't look like an adapter - looks like the socket is simply made that way.
We have a few plugged in around the house for guests - they cost about €1.50 each at the chinese shops.
