Didn't watch all the vid, but that previous leak has been mentioned quite a few times in the UK news.
It seems that within two years of it being plugged ,all was virtually back to normal regarding sea and fishstocks etc.
Whilst it has been a bad business again this time, there's little doubt the US drama queens will make it spin out as far as they can, and screw BP for every last possible dime.

Yeah, so all the fishermen etc had to do was wait for a couple of years.....

If BP is to blame then they should have to pay.

Polluter pays is a fair enough system in my eyes, especially if they learned nothing from the last time.

Yes,well last time it was mainly the Mexicans who were affected so they didn't matter too much, but now it's happened in Uncle Sams fair land, I have little doubt every one will get more than their fair whack by the end of the day, with plenty of perks for the hangers-on also.

We sailed into and around Milford Haven no more than a couple of years after the Sea Empress disaster in 1996 and there was nothing obviously wrong at all.

I tend to agree that the Americans will make as much as they can out of this - after all they were so generous to the Indian victims of the Bhopal accident weren't they?

Ain`t it about time the president told his countryfolk that the biggest shareholders in BP are the Yanks and stop blaming the British for the problem.

Yeah. Good old USA, I don't think they even sent anyone to say sorry.

If my memory ( oldtimmers ) is correct have they not changed the rules on maximum liability retrospectively
