Hi,
We have a pool enclosure made of arches like a, naya, glazed with glass doors. This is concrete and bloques construction. On top is a double wall polycarbonate roof comprised of panels which slide in the roof beams. This was constructed by Tropicpool in Calpe, but I cannot recommend them they made a complete lash up and I had to have the job finished by a local glazier. The roof beams came from France. It raises the water temperature by about 5C, compared to an open pool all the year round. It is 33C in the water today and the roof is mostly open! They have enclosures in Ju Ju Ju on the la pedrarer industrial estate in Teulada.

Yes but I have to keep the roof open to keep it down to 33C. When everyone else is finished swimming in November it is still 25C

Went in our pool in February at 16* but it was just a quick visit. Normal minimum for us to swim is 18* which was about mid March and it has been as high as 28* in August but that is far too hot for us.

What we intend to do is fit a pool cover which if the spiel is to be believed will raise the pool temp by about 5-8* so should extend our swimming season from about March until end November early December.

Have a look at this site for a tech explanation of how the het is retained by the pool with a modern pool cover. Looks like bubble wrap to me but they seem to say it is different.

What do you think to the low pool enclosure instead of a bubble wrap?

I have a daisy pool cover for a fairly big pool, comes with easy roller and protective cover for the 'bubble wrap' when it is on the roller. It keeps the dust out and chlorine lasts longer. You still need the sun to help warm it but it can get to 36c ! on the top layer :-)

My late husband was looking the idea of having an eclosure over ours, one that rolled back length ways. he felt it would need to be fairly high over the water surface for safety and the fact I am scared of water although I do swim a bit. Ventilation and steps access were his other considerations. While making his mind we went the Daisy Cover from Deep Blue Pools Alhaurin Grande.

Don't think low pool enclosures will last in the long term. The condensation which forms inside will be very aggressive and attack all the surfaces. We have an infinity pool 14x5m so it would be difficult to fit and would take up space at one end or other of the pool. By contrast a pool cover can be rolled up moved away for the hottest months.

Thanks John&Kath for the above advice, looks like being a pool cover, can you recommend one?
