we needed skips, these cost 30 euros. Hubby has skip delivered with building supplies in it, this reduces the delivery costs (30 e) so the skip comes free.
Very clever dear!

For us, there was never a delivery charge.

yes the skips cost 30 euros, this is up in the mountains above Nerja area.
hubby was surprised as well, expecting it to be more on uk rates. OK they are different from the UK, maybe they are a lot smaller.
delivery for building materials 30 euros every time, so it made sense to kill two birds with one stone.

Almost seems like too low a price - by the time they'd driven to your mountain retreat and back, surely they'd have consumed 30 Euros in diesel?
I know in the UK it can be a steady business in normal times, hiring out skips. Make sure you sort out the council regulations (you have to get a permit, avoid certain busy roads and junctions, and hope a competitor hasn't already a permit for the same stretch of road) but then it's a case of making money. Of course when building work falls away in a recession, the income stream disappears..

Skips not on the road, so no permit needed.
I haven't seen this skip, I'm in the UK, could it be a very small one for this price.
Is it out of season, are they desperate for the work...who knows, has hubby made a big mistake in his pricing and telling me porkies!!
I must check my information...I'll be back!

We used to order some pizzas , (free delivery by car) and wait outside for the delivery driver and tell him that the pizzas were ours but we would pay when we got home, so we would jump in the car with him.
It was no skin off his nose, because he had to make the journey anyway to deliver the pizzas.
