"Time to say goodbye"

Hi to all one further question and then in the words of that very beautifull song its "Time to say goodbye" and I will be shortly moving on to the LOS to try and find true happiness and rebuild my shattered life again after being betrayed by a woman who 14 years ago promised to love honour etc etc.

I will shortly be recieving a large cheque for my share from the sale of the house in euros. Does anybody know the best way to transfer it to the uk to be deposited into a sterling account. The cheque will have to firstly be deposited into the Banco Sabedell Atlantico into a Cuenta Mas account. If anybody can help it would be much appreciated. You can PM me if you wish.

Finally I would like to thank everybody in the past for all their help and assistance and have very much enjoyed being a part of this vast cyberspace communuity.

Well Mitzi while I cannot help with the money issue, (whats LOS?) can I please offer you my best wishes for your future life, you don't need me to tell you that life is odd how it works itself out, and as one door closes it can often hit you on the arse.
That said, life goes on, and as the Arabs say, "Luck, both good and bad, never lasts for ever".

Good luck Mitzi, and I hope that things work out for you.

Matt.

Good Luck in your new life. Hope everything goes really well for you.

Not sure on the money bit but I think that you can do a bank transfer in the normal way. If you have an electronic account it is easier.

'The only way is up' is the song I would attribute to you now.

Re: "Time to say goodbye"

Mitzi what a sad post....I know we had quite heated exchanges when I first joined the forum but I am sorry to see you leave.....I too am puzzled by the LOS ?

Just remember where there is life there is hope. A friend who lost her husband at the age of 67 married again at 72, and is truly happy again. To hear her and her husband singing softly together as they wash up the dishes is really heart warming. Sometimes when we split with a soul mate we imagine that there will never be anyone comparable again, but time moves on and it can happen.

Ola Mitzi.

Don't think we've spoken before. Just backtracked a little and read about your recent 'events'!

Just wanted to wish you all the very best. Like Matt, I've been there before but I tell you what - she did me the biggest favour ever, it's just that I didn't realise it at the time.

What goes around comes around mate. I'm convinced.

Wherever you're going to - surely there's no need to cut all ties with this forum? I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one who'd want to read about your new adventures.

Once again, all the very best mate. Some lucky karma on it's way.

Having been there twice after it having been on my list of places I had no interest in visiting, I love the place. Where are you going to try and base yourself ?? North, South on an island ,or somewhere on the mainland??
Good luck..

Hi poollounger . I to love it but it could be a different thing visiting and living there. I have a couple of good friends there who I am sure will look after me. One lives in Koh Samui and the other lives with the most gentle beautifull woman you could wish to meet and is all the things you say and more. If I am blessed to meet somebody like her then I will truly have everything a man wants.. So that is where I will probable end up.

Hello Mitzipurr

I wrote my first reply hours ago and then the darn PC crashed so I am trying again.

Thailand, well that's different from Costa de la Luz!

I wish you every happiness and joy and I sincerely pray you find peace in both your heart and mind.

As Derbyflan said, might be the biggest favour she ever did you. Just don't rush into something that you may later regret...................

my best wishes go to you, regards crispy:wub:

Re: "Time to say goodbye"

Koh Samui.....I stayed in the Laem Set Inn... a little piece of paradise far from the main tourist areas. Run by a Brit and his Thai wife. We stayed in one of the 'Shacks' on the beach, but as it was quiet they offered us a proper room further up.. we opted to stay where we were and play at being Gauguin. Their sunset bar at the top reminded me of the French planters house in the film of South Pacific.. Koh Panang is another beautiful island.
You may miss European culture, but the island life will compensate. Of course the 'holiday attraction' of any place diminishes when it becomes your permanent home, but for a while at least it will feel very special. Bon Voyage.

If you are able let us know how your new life pans out, starting again can be very painful but often opens new doors that you would never have discovered otherwise. I am sure that I would not be living in Spain if my life had not been turned upside down by a previous partner.

Good luck these difficult times will ease and life will once more be good, especially in such a wonderful place.

Hi Mitzi,

Banco Sabadell is Solbank or Solbank is part of the Sabadell group, if I'm not mistaken. They have branches in the UK, or at least one in London. Ask the bank manager how you can open an acct in the UK and get the money transferred across. The transfer should not have a cost attached to it, but the conversion € to £ might. Ask at Halifax as well so that you can compare.

Best of luck in whatever you do and please do try and keep in touch. I'm sure they have internet connections in Thailand too ;)

Thanks everybody for you good wishes and kind words they are really appreciated. I will keep in touch and let everybody know how things are going on. Once I settle in.

In reply to derbyflan I also believe in "what goes around comes around." In Thialand it is called karma which can be either good or bad. If there is any justice in this world then she has got a bucket full of bad karma waiting for her.

So has they say "keep watching this space"

We are just about to move to Spain and are having our money transferred to Cajamurcia bank from England via the Royal Bank of Scotland and they are converting it in to euros so that when it is received in Spain we have no charge from Cajamurcia but the RBS will charge us for the transfer so just go to your bank in Spain they can convert it to sterling before they send it to England and the charges are cheaper if you do it that way, anyway good luck and I,m sure you will meet some lovely lady who is deserving of a nice guy like yourself.

If you transfer it to me I will give you a god rate........ OK, didn't think you would buy that!

Sorry to hear about your past events, I don't know if this will help you but I find when something negative happens to look for positive events that wouldn't have happened if the negative one hadn't, you will find them, maybe not right now but they will happen and thinking about them helps get over the negative event.

Why not talk to your bank in the UK, ask thm the way of getting the best rate and the best/cheapest way of transfering the money to them. Wouldn't do any harm to actually talk to a couple of other banks also, don't rush to get the money there unless you know something about the exchange rate that we don't, make sure you are getting a good exchange and low charges first.

Hope this helps...

Re: "Time to say goodbye"

Have only just seen this thread mitzipurr, and I'm so sorry to hear that you've been having such a rough time :(

I remember feeling completely devastated when my ex decided he didn't want to be married any more (no other reason!!) after 13 years together.
It takes time, and a very special person, to help you heal and to trust again - but like so many people have said, life WILL be better and you will find someone more deserving of all that you have to offer.

I wish you every happiness in your new life, but please take some time to feel good about yourself first. Everything else will follow, and I'm sure good karma will be coming your way.
I've never been to Thailand, but I believe it's a very spiritual place..........amongst other very "different" experiences!!

Please don't offer to carry anyone else's luggage.............I've seen too many horrendous films based on those kind of experiences!!

Take time to heal, enjoy some tranquility and solitude, and then the world will be your oyster! :)

Have a happy life, and please do let us all know how you're getting on.
All good wishes to you,
from Sam.
