Do you act as a landlady or surrogate mother? I am trying to assess the level of responsibility as that bothers me slightly - although I guess it depends on the ages of the kids. Unfortunately when I am next in Denia, it will be too late to make arrangements. |

I saw an advert when I was last in Denia and considered doing this for a couple of weeks in August when I will have a spare room. Meant to note the details when I next went by with pen and paper, (the ad was in a shop window), and contact for more info. Unfortunately, I forgot to get the details.

thing is it states no swimming, too, but it is generally accepted that as long as you are just swimming quietly that is fine
unfortunately one english neighbour has decided that this applies to the kids but not her & had a right go at Jess & silverchick's boy yesterday.............they were virtually silent, just swimming up & down the pool........... she was in the pool herself........ |

I think a little further explanation would have helped there. A little out of context with the point derbyflan was trying to make (i think).
No wonder the Aussies call us whinging Brits!;) |

Why do the children have to swim between those hours if it's Siesta time?

I shouldn´t feel too left out. We have exactly the same rules around our pool, ie you can use it between 2 & 4 if you absolutely must, but only if you are totally silent.
also she seems to think it's OK for her to use the pool or sit out there getting pi$$ed & noisy with their cronies during siesta |

The probably don´t have to, they just want to.
my kids understand & respect siesta...what is annoying is that it's one rule for her & another for them (as far as she is concerned) when there are a lot of people here they do, in fact, come indoors for siesta - we eat at around 3pm, and stay in the cool for a couple of hours |

That's what the majority of Brits who move to Spain do isn't it?? That's why I would never consider living on an urb. |

That's why I would never consider living on an urb. Just thought of another myth - no need to learn Spanish because they all speak English. Rosemary |
