According to a La Marina website
officers from the Guardia Civil were on the roof of the office in La Marina
this morning ( 10th September 2008 ) removing the aerials and dishes
my partners villa is les than 2 minutes walk from their office so when we are there from Friday we will be able to see the truth or otherwise

The Telmicro statement on the Sol Productions website hints at ongoing problems at the La Marina site, without actually saying what they are. They seem to have been pretty much up front with everything so far, so I am happy to wait it out for the time being.

There could be a perfectly logical and plausible reason behind the equipment being taken away. Perhaps it was needed to build a Large Hadron Collider...

Now, where did I put that packet of superconducting magnets?

Re: Telmicro Levante

i think they are taking the equipment away as they need the spare parts for the "BIG BANG" experiment in switzerland....you know the one where if it goes worng no tv will be the least of your worries....

Re: Telmicro Levante

i was asked this question earlier to day and this is my reply - thought it may be good for here also...

"Please excuse my ignorance - but is freeview the same as freesat?"

no

"freeview" is the brand name of a UK Digital TV service ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE UK. it is available via tv aerials on the houses, and is only transmitted from TV transmitters in the UK. freeview is not availale in spain. freeview channels are http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/terrestrial/epg/ or see http://www.freeview.co.uk/home
note there are channels on freeview that you have to pay for on freesat!

spain has its own version of "freeview" called TDT - see tdt.es - 30ish digital spanish tv channels via a TV aerial...many programmes you can change the programmes into their original audio...not always english as a few german programmes have cropped up...

you have "Freesat" receivers - they only have about 100 channels on their EPG at the moment. they receive "free to air" channels. Freesat receivers will have the Freesat logo on them.
Freesat Channel List
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/satellite/freesatepg/

you have sky receivers and a £20 "freesatfromsky" card, - many more channels than Freesat. they receive "free to air" channels and Five, Five US and Fiver, Sky Three, Setanta Sports News ("known as "free to view" channels)
Freesat From Sky CHannel List
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/satellit...satfromskyepg/

If you have a sky receivers and want to pay monthly used for Free to air, free to veiw and subscription channels...
Sky CHannel List
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/satellite/skyepg/

Note that many installers are using generic receivers (sometimes called Free To Air receivers) and calling them freesat receivers which may be confusing people.
official freesat and sky receivers have a full 7 day programme guide...generic FTA receivers only have now and next programme infomation. G

eneric FTA receivers will get all channels in the second link - apart from Five, Five US and Fiver, Sky Three, Setanta Sports News.

note that reception of channels depends on your location and dish size

Re: Telmicro Levante

The news on Telmicro is becoming more ominous. A freebie newspaper has suggested that they are (Telmicro) not being very truthful. Shall wait with bated breath for the 'big bang' promised for next Tuesday then on to pastures new. No idea what that will be!

Lack of space and initial expense certainly rules out one of those huge dishes.
Anyway, no one can describe them as a thing of beauty and I don't really think that one would enhance my tiny garden,or worse, the roof!!!

So, what else is there? Ah, yes, re-broadcasting. I thoroughly enjoyed the service that Telmicro provided, in spite of the occasional wobbly and so I shall probably risk my all down that road again. However, where are all the rebroadcasters hiding? One of the posts tells us there are plenty about. Wish I could find one:confused:

Those Trailer Park Boys are something else, not seen them for a while, but I think there may be a more recent series not been shown yet on Sky.

Thanks for the info satman,my dish is a 1.6 by 1.8 offset type up here.
Picked it up for a few euro at a car boot in Benidorm and drove all the way to central Sweden with it tied on the car roof.Got a few funny looks on the way, but no great problem.
Also have a Philips box I bought of a Dutch guy in Beni about 7 year back.
It was 60euro incl a dish and still works great, both here and in Spain.
Watched the F1 Motor race today on it.
Hundreds of channels from most of Europe and N.Africa.
I think its set on the other Astra at 19 or so degrees E.
Very easy to set it up and certainly had my moneys worth out of it.

Can anyone help me out there? The Spanish TV channels that show live English football, where do I find their listings to know what games are going to be shown on a weekly basis?
