Re: Telmicro Levante

So, does that mean people will finally realise that rebroadcasting is not entirely legit, or are they going to carry on 'waiting and seeing whilst telmicro make further calibration to their equipment'??

Interesting twist on the tax evasion though, aside from sounding very 'Al Capone'. Not only did they forget to declare the profits for 72% of their customer base, they also forgot to declare those customers to the (few?) legit channels they were rebroadcasting under licence. Double bubble!

I still think it's a great business model, though. Get 60,000 customers to pay 20 euro a month (1.2 million / month). Total cost? One sky subscription! If you ever fancy going into business, Satandpc...

Torresat TV are taking over alot of Telmicro clients. We just have a mesh type dish so I don't think you would need a 2.4m dish. They have a team who just do new installations. Still no sky but they have alot of other channels.

However they are also rebroadcasters..... but it does seem as though the telmicro thing is more linkied to fraud than their rebroaadcasting. We are booked to have torresat install at our place, have been told it can be up to 3 weeks for them to get round depending on just where you live. As we have a torresat distribution mast a few yards away, we should get a decent signal.

true, but that was also linked to them claiming they only rebroadcast to 17000 clients and ont 50000.
i think all the rebroadcasters will come under the microscope when the case goes to court..

Sorry to raise the subject again, but having a Telmicro dish and LNB on my hands, been wondering if they are of any use. Dont think the dish is of any use but what about the LNB? Could that be used for receiving satellite channels? If not what is the difference in frequencies?. Thanks for any info:confused:

Re: Telmicro Levante

could it not be used with torresat or simulsat (one of them is doing a free install for new clients with old TM equipment...dont know which tho!)

for a satellite LNB to work it need to be with a satellite dish...and a satellite receiver....pointing to the satellites, not a rebroadcasting ground station.

satellite frequencies can be found at a site like lyngsat.com

Re: Telmicro Levante

Torresat have just spent 10s of thousands of euros doing a free update for all customers equipment from a mesh aerial to a dish with a new receiver. I have seen the receiver for sale on the internet at 129 euros which they obviously get cheaper but it still seems a tad foolish if they're about to be closed down?
