Telephone/Broadband - Best way to Start?

Re: Telephone/Broadband - Best way to Start?
Back to square one! Called up on Wed, Telefonica said no probs on 20E per month deal for 8 months. The said the would call back on Friday. Didn't so I called them. The didn't have a clue on this offer and tried to offer me double. They even said that the person that I spoke to on Wed doesn't work there?
The customer service is appaling. Even worse than the UK and that's saying something. Anybody I call in Spain for assistance, i.e. customer services, doesn't seem to have any energy or passion or willingness to help.
Is it just me?

I've read numerous posts in regards to Telefonica in English. Not willing to go with cowboys and spend months chasing them for payments.

Interesting report says that the majority in Málaga province don't get the speed they haave contracted. They blame the infrastructure, rain and damp etc. How far away the line is from the exchange. I just wish mine wouldn't cut out at the same time everyday

What is the next step up from ADSL? Cable? T1??? (whatever they are)
I live in the city and have a good Telefonica ADSL connection, but there is still a few seconds delay between clicking and a page loading. When I visit larger companies I see that they have some kind of a connection whereby the click and the new page loading are almost simultaneous. What are they using? I'm not a patient person and don't like waiting for internet pages to load!!

Hello CharlesB - did you start yet?
It's just that telefonica are advertising free connection this week only. If you decide to go with them for the phone line do it NOW.

Gotta Laugh.... Or you'll cry
Contacted them on Friday of last week. Nice guy, told me that they have a 20E deal at the mo, Telephone + BB. Extra 67E for setup fee for BB>
I thought, OK, sounds good. Said that I will ring up Mon to confirm the details. Just spoke to them and they said no such deal exists, 39E is the cheapest they can offer me? I even mentioned the name of the person that I spoke to on Friday and they stated that he didn't work there... crazy? Anyway, I'm waiting for them to come back to me. Customer service is sooo bad, across the board.
Thank's for the tip about the free phone line connection. I've already got one in at my business address so they simply need to reconnect the line. I will have to confirm the house that I will be renting.
Thank's again everyone for all your help.
Cheers
Charlie

Have you looked at Telefonicaonline? Often the deals available online are not the same as the ones on offer via telephone.

Re: Telephone/Broadband - Best way to Start?
telefonicainenglish.com is actually DT Onebill (direct telecom), based in Teneriffe. Are they cowboys? I emailed them & Nicole seems to be answering all my questions.
You pay 39.50€ (not incl IVA), with 8MB ASDL plus300mins free international calls using VOIP, local calls (VOIP) are free, plus you need to pay 13.97 euro for landline rental.
Has anyone used DT onebill? Please post your comments about them.
Thanks.
