Re: Telefonica - Internet Pricing Change

I have had ADSL rural for about 2 months. It is tarifa duo, that's 24/7 and local and national calls free.

... and how much do you pay?

I have just spoken to Telefonica and they insisit on charging me 19,90 to change from my current tarif to the one Fred mentioned!

I tried arguing that I should have been on this lower rate for the last two years but my Sopanish wasn't up to it nor was her English - oh, well

Thanks Fred - where does it state this because we are paying 39,90 in the campo for "ADSL 24 H" Tarifa Plana Nacional

If I could find something to argue at them with it might help.

I just looked at the bill and they have now put "internet 3Mb, Tarifa plana nacional."
I will get the Spanish guy that works with my wife to phone and find out the real cost, as he has the right expression frequencies. lol

JDR that would be great. On another forum we were told that you had to "claim it before the end of June"

See the Sur in English on this. Apparently you have to threaten to cancel your contract before they will reduce it.

We pay 29.80 per month for 1mb. This was reduce from 39.00 per month automatically. We didn't have to do anything. Well done Telefonica.

Although I have seen a advert with Telitec for 14.99 per month. Anyone know anything about them?

Their internet site appears to be deliberately void of facts :frown:

Just to clarify,
The link Fred gave in #18 is what I have, Duo.
Also, this is ADSL Rural, Rural is a completely different kettle of fish to all other connections.
It means that if you live in the campo you get ripped off.

Re: Telefonica - Internet Pricing Change

We're paying 44,90 a month for Duo 3mb. This is before IVA. I notice their website is offering 3mb for 29,90 for the first 12 months to new customers and says that after that the charge is 40,90 per month.

Not sure if its worth arguing with customer services over 4 euros per month. However its an excessive charge. Maybe we should try to move to the 1mb service.

Anyone know if they'll let you do that?

You are paying too much for ADSL DUO 3mb - it should be 39.90 + IVA.

Check you bill to make sure that you are not paying for extra maintenance or anti-virus.

We're on something called Duo 3mb Tarifa Plana Nactional/Bono F-M 60. We get free calls throughout Spain but thats all that I'm aware of and the factura doesn't say anything else.

Re: Telefonica - Internet Pricing Change

The Bono F-M 60 is a deal where you get 60 minutes a month of calls from your fixed phone to any mobile. If it is part of the ADSL package it only costs an extra €4 a month.

http://www.telefonica.es/on/onTOFich...%2Bqgo,00.html

You will get all your Spanish fixed line calls free with the basic ADSL package.

If you don't want the FM 60 package, call them on 1004 and get it cancelled.

Thanks Fred, we'll do that. 'Every little helps' as they say.

However have just been looking at their website again and it seems they don't even offer a 3mb package any more. Its 1 or 6 now and 6 is the same price as we pay so I guess we should be asking for an upgrade as well.

Be careful what you ask for
I got a call before Christmas telling me I could have 6 Mb connection for €1 extra a month. I naturally said yes but heard nothing. When the next bill came in it had €138 extra for configuration charges, but nothing had actually changed and indeed still hasnt
