Here's the current state of play!
I'm still working out of my mates's Estate Agents office, and I've just received an e-mail from Yacom. They said that because they were unable to connect me within 30 days they're giving me the first month free!

Wouldn't it be quicker to get a new line installed then get the new company to connect up the adsl to it?

I remember when ADSL first came out in the UK there was similar problems when companies dragged their heels when swapping providers over (until legislation came in) and the way you 'got around' it was to have a new line installed and get the new isp to connect that one as swapping the old one tooks 2 months or so!

Sorry to hear that xtreme.
This does not help, but shows what sort of chaos Telefonica is in. The other day they phoned us to offer us ADSL. We have used them for about 3 years now. When we said we had ADSL, but wanted the 3GB service and the lower price they advertised. We were told they couldn’t do that as it is for new customers and the price is for a limited period only. It does not say anything about that on the web page.

They've been reported by the consumer assoc for that little oversight.
