Telefonica ADSL wierdness
#16
I have travelled around Spain for many years and always found the internet to be easily available and free in many hotels or wifi spots and generally never had any problems where I had to call a hotels ISP to allow me to send an email.

Now as far as cost is concearned, you will find on Spanish foros many complaints about the cost of internet here relative to service.

BTW, Telefonica are currently in the process of upgrading lines throughout various areas of Spain to try and offer faster speeds but you need to also understand that it depends a lot on how near the nearest node is, in cities you generally tend to be near one as they are all over the place but out of the cities or town it is a different story as generally they don't put nodes where there aren't many lines.
I am not defending Telefonica as I have had to put up with them for 28 years, if you think they are difficult to deal with now you should have tried 15 years ago, now then it was backward.

Well it all went horrribly wrong before I went off to Sevilla for the week, and the Internet went down as soon as I asked for the upgrade. Now I am back I have this
So, as I guessed, no chance of 6 Mb but better than the 512 connection I had. Now do I complain to Telefonica that they are not supplying the 6Mb that they are charging me an extra 1 euro a month for??

1) they told me that I had to send certain information to them to get that selected contract so when it arrived they would contact me ...... bla bla bla.
2) I told them I thought she (I) was paying too much and wanted to sort this out now.
3) They said I had to send the information.
4) I told them to cancel the contract for the number.
5) I had the contact changed over within 3 minutes, they explained I would get two bills next 1/4, one for the old contract and one for the new one starting from that moment on.
Now she (I) pay about 40% of what we where before the changes to the contract.

I have been threatening to sit down and look at my adsl with telefonica, I don't want to change because I have been through that and ended up back with them because they where (and are) faster than all the others I went through, I do need speed on the net but I think you do need to jurk them a little to get a saving as they won't tell you how to not spend money with them.

I started at 512 and it just keeps going up, although it has been stuck around here for a while.

Will you lot shut up about your unfeasably big connections!
I've only got a small one and I'm jealous ... whereas Telefonica tell me mine should be bigger than both of yours put together
