From a mobile or from someone else's house or a public phone - there are plenty of ways of contacting them.

I assumed from your post that you would be contacting them when you got to Javea.

You will probably be better off trying online or calling the number that Mitzy posted 34 699 99 10 04

Dear Fred you have been so helpful in all of this and I am so grateful. It is a bit stressful at the moment so if I have been a bit rude please forgive me. Not my style at all.

However have tried on-line but with no success whatsoever and what I thought was to engage the help of our two friends who are Telefonica customers in Javea and the agent from whom we are renting the villa to help? But will try once more on-line for I do like to be as best I can independent.

My Spanish which has long since been lost will have to be re-found very soon.

We are looking forward to the new venture and someone said to me this morning 'If you love the South of France you will love Javea' We certainly do love the South of France and have spent many holidays there.

Just one or two things to do and then to give notice here in France.

The world is a small place. I have never met the agency my brother in law has been our eyes and ears and we have never seen the villa! Spoke to the agency lady this morning. She was born and brought up three miles from my birthplace in the Rhondda Valley. We speak the same language!

take care

In which case the best bet is to sign up for a fixed line with ADSL and wait until they have installed it. Then you can go and buy a Smartphone at one of their shops and they will arrange the fusion contract for you.

I had a line/ADSL and the shop sorted out a new Sim for the phone and changed my contract over to Fusion (which is a very good deal).
Thank you Fred for your advice. We finally visited the Movistar shop to sign up for a standard line/ADSL last Thursday, and were told the Engineers would probably install the line the following Monday. We explained the problems with the connection lines and they informed us we would not be charged if they could not connect the line to the house.

Friday morning we had a phone call to check if we were at home, and could they come to install immediately. After nearly two hours they managed to get the connections working. On Friday afternoon I went back to the store, selected a SMART Phone, arranged for my existing mobile number to be transferred over. On Monday I pick up the phone and sign the contract for Fusion.

Excellent service from Movistar, faster broadbend and SMART phone in less 3 working days.

Glad to hear it worked out so well.

Movistar do seem to be getting their act together. The new Fusion deal is a winner. It's only been available for a couple of months and they have signed over a million contracts and many were from people with other companies contracts.
