It may be different in Belgium but in Spain it is essential to balance the phases.

The reason is that everyone now has to have an ICP (potencia) trip which only allows them to draw the power that they have contracted for.

On a three phase supply the ICP is a triple trip. For example if you had a 15kw supply, each phase only has the ability to pass 5kw so if you don't balance the phases and think very carefully about just what loads will be taken and exactly when, the trip will be going all the time.

who needs an ICP trip when we have Endessa knocking off the supply at a whim.
They publish a list of interruptions for the week in Ideal but even though we are not listed still lose power, even if it is just a blip it is enough to turn off the clocks and computers so all need a reboot.
The other weekend we lost it for a number of hours, with it blipping back on/off like a conductor flying in the breeze - have had to buy a new TDT box as it has blown the one we had on.

But what you are saying makes sense, although some of the systems I have seen recently seem to predate accurate meters let alone ICP's.
I was wondering earlier if there was a meter per phase, but you have squared that one.

Time you bought a UPS.You can get one for around €50. Put one on the TV gear and another for the PC.

We rarely get long power cuts but frequent blips which can do a lot of damage.

bought one for the computer gear (TV only on from 6-11pm), but it pulls the mcb when coming back in - probably have too low a supply capacity but also a potential mcb problem due to the inrush.
As I have said before, don't want to do anything to this rental, so the sooner we get out of here the better
